Radios lure more listeners in December

Hungarians have spent remarkable time listening to the radio in the last few months, especially in the early morning and early afternoon hours, according to recently published data by Gfk Hungária and Ipsos. In December, 2010, 87% of the Hungarian population above the age of 15 was listening to the radio for an average four hours and ten minutes per day. During the holiday preparations people listened to the radio during the week rather than on the weekend. Statistics show that people switched on their radios earlier the day than usual in December. Between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m., a record number of listeners were registered: nearly one-third of the population listened to various radio programs during this period. (ASz)
