Rácz baths remain closed as local council vies to boost stake in operator - paper

A more than HUF 9 billion renovation and expansion of the Rácz baths, one of Budapest's historic Turkish baths, was completed last year, but its doors remain closed because of a row over the capital's stake in the historic Turkish baths' operator, business daily Napi Gazdaság said on Thursday.

The local council owns a 25% stake in Rác Nosztalgia, which operates the baths, but wants to raise it to 50%, without taking on any additional obligations, the paper said. The baths are unlikely to open before the end of the year, it added.
