Poultry processer Zalai Baromfifeldolgozó will begin construction of a new, HUF 1.5 billion plant in western Hungary this month, the regional daily Zalai Hírlap reported.
The company is expected to begin production at the 3,400-square-meter plant at the industrial park in Pacsa next summer.
Zalai Baromfifeldolgozó CEO Tibor Bedő told the newspaper that the plant will have the capacity to process 2.5 million – 3 million chickens and 800,000 turkeys per year.
The company received HUF 401 million in support for the project in 2008 and has appealed the previous agricultural ministry's 2009 rejection of a request for a further HUF 415 million in support. OTP Bank will provide loans for construction of the plant. (MTI - Econews)
