Nickelodeon is in talks with central and eastern-European countries’ television program makers, while in the US, new series will debut on the channel.
More than 260 half-hour shows like will be available to the viewers of Kazahstan from September. In Albania and Slovenia, another two new series will be on screen from this autumn.
The channel’s parent company, MTV Networks is working on expanding Nickelodeon’s European coverage, and broadcasting the high-definition channel of the portfolio, MTVNHD through local service providers in Switzerland, Poland and Malta. This channel provides music and reality programs as well as live action for children in HD quality.
Besides exploring new ground, Nickelodeon plans to start new series as well: it decided to put on screen the follow-up for Avatar, The Legend of Korra in 2011. (BBJ)
