Between 22,000 and 23,000 passengers are expected to have used the FlyBalaton airport in western Hungary by the end of the year, slightly under the projection of 25,000 made in the spring, FB Airport managing director Ágoston Gubicza told MTI.
Gubicza declined to offer more specific figures because of charter flights arriving from Moscow in the last weeks of the year.
FB Airport, a member of the SCD Group, which has many property developments in the region, started operating the airport in March, after its previous operator, Cape Clear Aviation, went bankrupt.
Passenger numbers at FlyBalaton are expected to reach 80,000-100,000 in 2011.
Between two and three Airbus A300-600 cargo aircraft take off from FlyBalaton for destinations in the Middle East each week, Gubicza said. (MTI – Econews)
