Parallel imports account for big part of unlocked mobile phones in Hungary

A big part of unlocked mobile phones sold in Hungary are grey product, brought to the country through channels other than their makers' official distribution network, business daily Világgazdaság said on Thursday.

The handsets can be 20-25% cheaper than ones imported through conventional channels, the paper said.

Only 10-15% of the handsets sold in Hungary are unlocked. Most Hungarians buy locked phones from their service provider. (MTI Econews)
