The Hungarian city of Pápa's thermal spa is undergoing HUF 1.07 billion of developments, mayor Tamás Áldozó said on Tuesday.
Five new thermal pools, a waterslide complex, a competitive swimming pool, two high dives and a healthcare centre will be built as part of the project to be completed by the end of October, Áldozó said.
European Union funding is covering HUF 428 million of the cost of the investment and the county of Veszprém is providing HUF 643 million. The local council will own 51% of the company that owns the spa and the county will hold 49%.
The spa attracts about 250,000 visitors a year. (MTI-Econews)
