OTP eyes Croatian bank

OTP Bank, Hungary's biggest commercial lender, is considering the possibility of acquiring Croatia's Karlovacka Banka, said on Thursday, citing a report in Croatian paper Banka Magazine.

The listed, regional bank had an HRK 83 million (€11.2 million) loss last year. It has market capitalisation of HRK 87 million.

OTP Bank's existing Croatian subsidiary, OTP Banka Hrvatska, is the eighth-biggest bank in the country. The unit has 99 branches, while Karlovacka has 18.
