The national radio and television board ORTT has allocated a combined HUF 89.9 million (€327.5 million) to support the production of local or regional public television programs in the first round of its 2010 tender.
The media authority has allocated a further HUF 47.7 million to support purchases of technical equipment to help the radio and television channels with the digital switchover.
ORTT has given support to 28 local and regional televisions and television production companies in the tender called on March 5 to support program production.
Twenty-four radio and television stations won funding in the tender called on January 27 to support the development of technical background. Twelve non-profit broadcasters obtained funding worth HUF 21.4 million, while the twelve public broadcasters received funding worth HUF 26.2 million. (MTI – Econews)
