Number of mobile phone subscriptions rises 72,000 in September

The number of mobile phone subscriptions rose 72,000 to 9.6 million in September, the National Telecommunications Authority (NHH) said on Friday.

The number of subscriptions rose 284,000 in January-September and was up 530,000 from twelve months earlier.
T-Mobile Hungary Zrt's share of subscriptions dropped to 44.84% in September from 45.13% in August. Pannon GSM Zrt's share rose to 33.81% from 33.63%, and Vodafone Hungary Zrt's share increased to 21.35% from 21.33%. A year earlier, T-Mobile controlled 45.13% of the market, Pannon had 33.95% and Vodafone's share was 20.92%.
3,310 subscribers switched service providers but kept their mobile phone number in September. The number of subscribers who have done so since number portability rules were introduced in May 2004 reached 129,877.
