Norway's Yara to halt production at UK plant

Norwegian fertilizer group Yara's 50% owned GrowHow joint venture will temporarily shut ammonia production at an ammonia and ammonium nitrate production in Ince, UK after Christmas, Yara said.

The site has an annual capacity of 365,000 tons ammonia and 500,000 tons of ammonium nitrate, Yara said.

“The ammonia and ammonium nitrate plants will start up when market conditions improve,” the company said in a statement.

GrowHow is a joint venture between Yara International and US-based Terra Industries. (Reuters)
