State-owned fertiliser company Nirtrokémia is negotiating with the State Privatization and Holding (ÁPV) Rt on a Ft 3 billion cash injection to complete environmental projects this year, the company announced. Environmental investments totaling Ft 12 billion have been made at the company over the past four years, Bakonyi said. In 1997, ÁPV put Nitrokémia's production into another company, Nitrokémia 2000, transferring assets worth Ft 2.65 billion and giving the company a Ft 2 billion cash injection. Nitrokémia was left with the responsibility for repairing the environmental damage done by its plant over the years. Bakonyi said the company has plans to set up an industrial park on a 150-hectare area adjacent to the factory. A waste disposal company will use an additional 25 hectares at the site.
