NIF calls new railway renovation tender

Hungary's National Infrastructure Development Company (NIF) has called a new tender for the renovation of a broad-gauge railway line in the Záhony region near Hungary's border with Ukraine, the fresh issue of the Public Procurement Gazette shows.

NIF called the new tender after the Public Procurement Arbitration Board (KDB) annulled the previous one and levied a fine of HUF 3 million.

In the previous tender, the four bids submitted ranged from HUF 12.9 billion to HUF 13.9 billion. A consortium of A-Hid Építő, Vasútépítők, HF Wiebe and EuroAszfalt bid HUF 12.9 billion. A consortium of Swietelsky Vasúttechnika, KÖZGÉP Építő -és Fémszerkezetgyártó, Szentesi Vasútépítők Kft and KELET-ÚT Építőipari, Beruházó es Szállítmányozó bid HUF 13.9 billion. A consortium of Subterra and Doprastav bid HUF 13.4 billion, and a consortium of OHL ZS, Nemzetközi Vegyépszer, Középszolg and Arcadom bid HUF 13.5 billion.

Hungary aims to turn the Záhony region into a logistics hub for the region. (MTI-ECONEWS)
