Magyar Telekom Nyrt, Hungary's incumbent telco, and Russia's Multiregional Transit Telecom (MTT) have signed a cooperation agreement on network services which will allow cheaper and better quality calls to be made from Hungary to all of Russia's regions, Tibor Micsinai, the head of Magyar Telekom's T-Systems unit announced on Wednesday. The agreement will help MTT establish direct connections in Southeast Europe, Micsinai said.
MTT, set up in 1994, primarily offers wholesale international services to Russia's 300 regional landline and wireless service providers. With a call volume of 5 billion minutes a year and more than 400 employees, MTT is one of Russia's top developing telecommunications providers.
