Montana profits slip in 2005

IT company Montana Rt's consolidated after-tax profit fell to Ft 50 million in 2005, from Ft 76 million in 2004, but it managed to cut operating costs 8% during the same period, according to preliminary unaudited figures published on Sunday.

The company noted that it started shifting its focus to software development, rather than hardware sales, after 2000, and hardware sales have fallen since as a result. Sales to trade and telecommunications companies accounted for 37% of revenue in 2005, sales to the industrial sector for 28% and sales in the public sector for 28%. Sales in Western Europe brought in 13% of revenue.
