Mobile phone subscriptions up 8,000 in April

The number of mobile phone subscribers in Hungary increased 0.08%, or 8,000, to 9.414 million in April, the National Communications Authority (NHH) announced on Wednesday.

Penetration was 93.4% in April, compared to 93.3% in March and 87.7% in April 2005. Based on the number of subscribers, T-Mobile had a market share of 44.95% in April, compared to 44.91% in March and 45.85% in April 2005; Pannon had a market share of 33.25%, compared to 33.17% in March and 34.11% twelve months earlier; and Vodafone had a market share of 21.8%, compared to 21.94% in March and 20.04% in April 2005.
Based on the number of active subscribers, T-Mobile had a market share of 44.98% in April, compared to 45% in March and 45.95% in April 2005; Pannon had a market share of 33.58%, compared to 33.59% in March and 34.30% twelve months earlier; and Vodafone had a market share of 21.44%, compared to 21.41% in March and 19.76% in April 2005.
There were 3,098 subscribers who switched service providers but kept their telephone number in April.
