VirusBuster announced in a press release that Microsoft has renewed a long standing license agreement with the company to include its antivirus engine in Microsoft Forefront security solutions.
Microsoft has renewed its antivirus engine license agreement with the Hungarian vendor. In a highly competitive marketplace, VirusBuster's solution will continue to help protect customers using Microsoft Forefront Protection for Exchange Server and Forefront Protection for SharePoint against malware and internet threats all over the world.
Beside Microsoft's own engine, Forefront will include engines from Authentium, Kaspersky, Norman and VirusBuster. Microsoft Forefront helps deliver end-to-end security and access to information through an integrated line of protection, access, and identity management products.
Jim Molini, a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft said, “VirusBuster continues to be a great security partner. They have a track record of providing reliable technology that meets our strict quality and support requirements. VirusBuster has consistently been a solid performer on independent tests and they were able to deliver 64-bit support before most of their competitors. We look forward customers taking advantage of this technology as part of the upcoming next generation releases of Forefront server security products.” Chris Marando, a developer on the Microsoft Forefront team, said, “From a technical perspective, VirusBuster has been keeping up with the latest technologies and has provided excellent turnaround on bug fixes. This helps me with integration and maintenance.” (press release)
