Media Council fines RTL Klub HUF 144 mln for reality show

The recently established Media Council of the National Media and Telecommunications Authority (NMHH) has fined commercial television station RTL Klub HUF 144 million for violating broadcasting regulations with its reality show Való Világ (real world) in November and December, council spokesperson Karola Kiricsi said after a meeting of the body on Wednesday.

RTL Klub promised to keep rules in an ethical codex before the show was broadcast, but the show's fourth season, for which the broadcaster was fined, drew many complaints to the council, including 127 in writing, Kiricsi said.
