Meat industry union readies for strike

The Trade Union of Meat Industry Workers has announced that it is getting ready to call strikes after April 24 if no agreement is reached by meat companies and their employers regarding 2006 wage hikes, President József Kapuvári said. The wage talks conducted so far have not yielded satisfactory results, he added. The trade union leader called for industry-wide cooperation and solidarity, asking non-unionized meat industry employees to support the organization in its endeavors.
