MÁV signs contract with Bombardier

State-owned Hungarian rail company MÁV signed a contract with Canada's Bombardier on the purchase of 25 TRAXX electric locomotives and an option to buy a further 25. Bombardier will supply the first 25 engines for €3.094 million apiece.

Bombardier won the order in a tender.

The engines will be delivered within two years of the signing of the financing contract. MÁV will pay for the order with a loan. The lender will be picked by MÁV and its rolling stock unit MÁV-TRAKCIÓ in a public procurement tender. (MTI – Econews)
