Power plant Mátrai Erőmű (N-Hungary) will pay an all-time high dividend of HUF 10 billion (€37.04 million) on its 2009 after-tax profit of HUF 21.6 billion, the business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Wednesday.
The plant will pay the HUF 2,190-per-share dividend at the end of June.
Mátrai Erőmű CEO József Valaska told the newspaper that the plant projects after-tax profit of HUF 16.3 billion in 2010, noting that Mátrai Erőmű has had to take significant cost-reduction measures in order to meet the target as a result of the decline in the price of electricity.
A majority of 50.9% of Mátrai Erőmű belongs to RWE and 21.7% to ENBW Energie Baden-Wurttemberg of Germany, and 25,5% is held by state-owned Hungarian electricity works MVM. (MTI-Econews)
