Malév Hungarian Airlines obtained level C qualification for Mechtronix FFS X(TM)

Malév Hungarian Airlines successfully upgraded its FFS X(TM) Non Zero Flight Time(TM) (NZFT(TM)) to level C qualification.

The inspection was done by the Dutch Civil Aviation Authorities under JAA regulations at Malév facility in Budapest Ferihegy Airport. The upgrade consisted in a software only operation with no impact on hardware; additional credits were gained for pilot training resulting in a simulator suitable for 100% of recurrent, initial and transition training, testing and checking.

Malév decided to upgrade its FFS X(TM) less than a year after its initial qualification in order to bring even more training in-house and provide a more utilizable training tool for its pilots and for external customers. The NZFT(TM) (Level B Qualified) platform already allowed for 100% of recurrent training, testing and checking at Malév. With the upgrade, Malév is now also able to perform 100% of the initial training phase.

The device has been ready for training since November 2006. „We are extremely proud of the success the FFS X(TM) has brought to our institution. The FFS X(TM) is a versatile training device that gives us the competitive edge we need in our industry” commented captain Ákos Andrasev, Director Flight Operations at Malév Hungarian Airlines. „The Mechtronix FFS X(TM) enabled us to save on operating costs, to maximize our crew yields, while it is very easy to maintain.”

„We are happy to see the success Malév is experiencing with the FFS X(TM). Our platform, and the way we manufacture the FFS X(TM), allows for greater flexibility. Upgrading the FFS X(TM) is an easy task for us, „indicated Mechtronix President Xavier Hervé. The success of obtaining both FAA and JAA certification along with the low costs of operations and maintenance, allows for greater accessibility to the FFS X(TM) for airlines that were still not able to own their own simulator. We wish to Malév the greatest of success.”
