Malév had a weak 2010

With a passenger number above three million, Hungarian airline Malév’s income reached HUF 92 billion in 2010, which is a 7% drop compared to 2009, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported. Due to flight cancellations after the Iceland volcano eruption, Malév faced losses in the amount of HUF 1 billion while the rise in the fuel prices also hit the company by further HUF 3 billion. Malév, now more optimistic because of its several new destinations and the Hungarian EU Presidency, plans 11% increase for the year 2011 by reaching an income of HUF 101.5 billion and passenger number of 3.2 million.
