First-quarter figures from the Association of European Airlines show Malév Zrt is Europe's most punctual airline, Malév said in a statement on Friday.
Among short-term and medium-term flights, Malév proved the most punctual of the 25 airlines. As regards luggage management, Malév took third place among the companies taking best care of luggage.
AEA figures show Malév's punctuality indicator was 88.9% for departing flights and 89.6% for arriving flights in Q1, compared to an average of 79.3% for the 25 airlines. The latter indicator corresponds to an average 15-minute delay for flights.
Malév is doing far better than the average in terms of luggage irregularities. European airline companies lost 15.2 of every 1,000 pieces of luggage compared to 14.7 one year earlier. In Malév's case, the figure was just 8.2, according to AEA figures.
