The local councils of Veszprém and Szentkirályszabadja are suing BudaWest for an old airbase the developer has failed to convert into an airport, as promised, daily Nepszabadság said on Monday.
BudaWest bought the airbase in 2006 and was to have already completed the first phase of the project. The local councils view this as a breach of contract and aim to reclaim the airbase in court.
BudaWest says it could not complete the investment because the authorities have not awarded it the necessary permits, Népszabadság said.
BudaWest planned to spend HUF 5 billion to turn the airbase into a civilian airport by September 2010, Econews reported earlier. (MTI-Econews)
