Liquidator aims to keep solar cell maker operational

The liquidator of troubled solar cell maker Heliogrid Magyarország aims to sell the company's plant in Salgótarján as an operational unit, bailiff Miklós Balázs told MTI on Wednesday.

Heliogrid went under liquidation in the summer of 2009. The company has not yet been put up for sale, but talks have been held with an interested group of investors, Balázs said.

Former economy minister János Kóka announced in March 2007 that Heliogrid would build a HUF 16.5 billion plant that would eventually employ about 800 people.

The company completed just one of four production lines at its base by the time it went under liquidation, Balázs said. (MTI-ECONEWS)
