László Kerekes, CEO of AkzoNobel Coatings was unanimously elected the new president of the Hungarian European Business Council (HEBC), the Hungarian organization of the European Round Table of Industrialists.
The previous head of HEBC, Tamás Ferenczi, the CEO of British Telecom’s Hungarian daughter company has resigned after two years because of his growing workload and will continue to participate in the council’s work.
The members of HEBC include the heads of ABB, BAT Hungary & Austria, BT Global Services C&EE, BT Hungary, Electrolux CEE, Ericsson Hungary, GDF Suez Energy Holding Hungary, Nestlé Hungary, Nokia Hungary, OMV Hungary, Philips C&SEE, Philips Hungary, SAP Hungary, Shell Hungary, SKF Hungary, SUEZ Environnement Hungary. The aggregated revenue of the member companies is HUF 1850 billion, and they employ 18,650 people.
The organization’s goal is to help Hungary’s further European integration and development in the broadest sense. It also releases an annual report about Hungary’s economic environment which strives to help regulators make Hungary into a competitive country with a stable and predictable environment.
The European Round Table of Industrialists consists of 45 European industrial companies. They represent about €1000 billion of revenue and 6.6 million jobs.
