The Hungarian unit of German automotive industry supplier Kirchhoff has been awarded HUF 83 million in state wage support to ensure the jobs of its 200 staff, Kirchhoff Hungária managing director Szabolcs Sólyom told MTI on Tuesday.
Kirchhoff Hungária was earlier forced to reduce its headcount from 300 to 200 and cut one of its three shifts because of a fall in orders from Magyar Suzuki, Sólyom said.
Kirchhoff Hungária targets revenue of €20 million in 2009, down from €32 million in 2008. Output volume was one-third under the target in Q1, Sólyom said.
Kirchhoff Hungária inaugurated a HUF 3.5 billion expansion at its plant in Esztergom, near the Magyar Suzuki plant, in September 2007. (MTI-Econews)
