K and H Bank plans layoffs because of levy

Hungary's K and H Bank is considering "significant" layoffs because of an extraordinary financial sector levy it must pay in 2010-2012, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Thursday.

Most of the layoffs are planned in Budapest and in Pest County, the paper said, without citing any sources.

K and H Bank's communications director told the paper that a decision had not been taken on any layoffs, but the bank continues to follow market developments and will react if necessary. (MTI Econews)
