InBev, one of the world's biggest brewer, could soon decide to move all of its accounting activities in Europe to a center in Hungary, a spokesman for Borsodi Brewery Rt, InBev's unit in Hungary, announced on Tuesday. InBev aims to rationalize its scope of activities with the move, spokesman Imre Fehér said. If InBev decides to go ahead with the plan, it would first move accounting activities now carried out in Belgium, Germany, Luxembourg and Hungary to a single center in Hungary. Later it would move its accounting activities from the rest of Europe to Hungary. The measure would create 188 jobs in Hungary, while eliminating 360 at offices where the activities were earlier carried out, including 30 jobs at the office in Hungary.
Borsodi had revenue of about Ft 40 billion in 2005, level with the previous year, Fehér said. InBev had revenue of €11.6 billion in 2005.
