Family-owned Danish steelmaker Ib Andresen Industri has completed a €15 million processing plant at the port of Gönyü on the Danube near Győr, managing director of the plant Tom Andresen announced on Thursday.
The 11,000 square meter plant, which will make products for the automotive, household appliance and electronics industries, has annual capacity of 150,000 tons, but will only use about half of that amount this year, Andresen said.
Ib Andresen said it picked the site for the factory because of the cheaper cost of water transport, the proximity to Slovakia and the qualified local workforce.
