Hypermarkets sell third of daily provisions

Hungarians bought 31% of their daily provisions in hypermarkets last year and the trend shows that people increasingly spend their money in big stores, according to a survey by market analyst AC Nielsen.

The study found that sales of small outlets with floor space of less than 50 square meters dropped by 10% in five years and only those businesses that joined a chain such as CBA, Co-op or Real managed to stay competitive.
