Hungary state-owned electricity work unit wins CERN contract

MVM OVIT, a unit of state-owned Hungarian Electricity Works (MVM) has won a contract to upgrade equipment protection and controlling in the 66 kilovolt substations of the Geneva-based European nuclear research organization CERN.

MVM OVIT said on Tuesday the tender was invited on March 21, 2012, and the contract was signed on August 9 for the secondary reconstruction of CERN's 66 kilovolt network.

The company did not reveal the value of the contract. Manufacturing of the new fittings is expected to start in November, with installation following next February.
