Hungary, Saudi Arabia discuss energy cooperation

Hungarian nuclear energy industry insiders presented their sector and discussed possible cooperation with a delegation from Saudi Arabia at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences on Thursday.

Those areas in which Saudi Arabia and Hungary can cooperate on questions concerning the nuclear industry could soon be outlined, said state secretary for climate and energy affairs Pál Kovács.

The Saudi delegation showed the King Abdullah Nuclear and Renewable Energy Centre's plan that can turn Saudi Arabia in the direction of sustainable energy sources, said Hungarian Academy of Sciences chairman József Pálinkás.

Hashim A Yamani, who heads the center, said he hoped Hungary could assist in Saudi Arabia's efforts in education and research and development, as well as in the supply of technology and the area of investment.
