Farm gate prices in Hungary fell 8.8% year-on-year in September after 2.7% increase in August, as prices for crops declined 22.2% and livestock prices climbed 9.3%, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported on Thursday
Price growth slowed sharply from August when crop prices fell 4.6% and livestock prices rose 12.4p% yr/yr. Crop prices dropped yr/yr for the second time since May 2007.
January-September farm gate prices rose 11.0% yr/yr as crop prices increased6.3pc and livestock prices climbed 17.2%.
The farm gate price of cereals fell a further 35.6% yr/yr in September, after a 12.8% twelve-month decrease in August. The price of wheat fell 34.2%, while maize prices fell 45.3% in the twelve months to September. (MTI-Eco)
