Hungarian tobacco crop seen falling 20-30%

Bad weather is likely to cut Hungary's tobacco harvest this year by 20-30%, head of the Hungarian Tobacco Producers Association Illés Benyei told MTI.

Hungarian farmers are growing Virginia tobacco on 4,000 hectares and Burley tobacco on 1,750 hectares this year, Benyei said. Last year average yield per hectare was 1.5 tons. (MTI – Econews)
