Hungarian State Railways inaugurates HUF 350 mln telecommunications system

Hungarian State Railways MÁV inaugurated a new, HUF 350 million system supporting the operations of company telecommunications on Thursday.

MÁV Deputy CEO László Mosóczi said that the new system consolidates several of the company's important operational activities, integrating the telecommunications-oversight system and increasing the speed of repairs.

The system was built by Hungarian company NETvisor that won the contract on a tender invited in December 2009.

Mosóczi told MTI that the launching of the new system would entail HUF 40 million in additional expenses aimed at connecting it to the GSM-Railway international wireless-communications standard.
