Hungarian mobile providers to cut fees

Mobile service providers operating in Hungary must cut the fee to terminate a call by as much as 20 % from February 2007, Interfax reported, citing the country's communications authority NHH.

The cut is part of plans to lower termination fees by between 40% and 50% to a uniform Ft 16.84 by January 2009, the agency reported. TMobile, a unit of Magyar Telekom Nyrt, will have to trim its fees by 14.7% as of February 2, and by the same rate in January 2008 and 2009. The annual cut will be 17% for Pannon GSM, the local unit of Telenor ASA, and 19.8% for the Vodafone Group Plc unit, Interfax added.(Bloomberg)
