Hungarian company, university use Silver Nano technology to make anti-bacterial fabric

The Szeged University of Sciences and staff at state-owned textile company Szefo have made fabric and outerwear using anti-bacterial Silver Nano technology, Szefo CEO Sándor Kiss said on Thursday.

Szefo will use the fabric, which it took more than one year to develop, in orders for Italy's Dama, the company's main export partner.

Szefo patented the fabric in December.

Szefo targets revenue of HUF 1.37 billion in 2010, up from HUF 1.62 billion in 2009, according to preliminary figures. The company was awarded a HUF 619 million central budget subsidy in 2009 for employing disabled people and it expects to receive a HUF 500 million subsidy in 2010. About 80% of the company's 750 staff are disabled. (MTI-Econews)
