Huawei Hungary output could reach €1 billion in 2010

The value of output from Chinese-based telecom company Huawei Technologies Hungary could reach €1 billion in 2010, while the number of employees is expected to grow to 1,000 by the end of the year, the business daily Napi Gazdaság said, quoting Huawei Technologies Hungary Managing Director Frank Hou. The company's original plans envisaged employment of 700 workers at the end of this year. The Chinese company performs assembly of telecommunications equipment in Hungary, but a decision has already been made to start more complex production. The two production bases are the Elcoteq plant in Pécs (SW Hungary) and the Foxconn unit in Komárom (W Hungary). Huawei Hungary will purchase production equipment worth €100m from companies in Hungary and other countries in the European Union this year. (MTI-Econews)
