Chinese electronics maker Hisense has decided to shut down production at its LCD television plant in Hungary because of falling orders, business daily Világgazdaság reported.
The company will lay off 88 people.
Hisense's sales, financial and maintenance centre in Hungary will continue operation with a staff of 13, plant director Zsolt Takács said.
Hisense opened a plant in Sárvár (W Hungary) in 2004, then moved it to nearby Szombathely in 2006. (MTI – Econews)
