Commercial production at a district-heating plant built by geothermal company Pannergy in Szentlőrinc will start only on January 1, 2011 instead of November, PannErgy announced.
The start has been delayed by the higher-than-expected yield of the reinjection well of Szentlőrinci Geotermia, 90% -owned by PannErgy Polifin. The higher yield makes it possible to use the reinjection well as a production well at a later stage if the company finds an investor, PannErgy said.
Szentlőrinci Geotermia laid the cornerstone for the geothermal district-heating plant in Szentlőrinc in early July. The plant will provide district heating for public institutions as well as 1,000 homes in the town under a 15-year thermal energy supply contract Szentlőrinci Geotermia signed with the local district-heating provider in June this year. The agreement can be extended by a further five years. (MTI – Econews)
