Head of consumer protection leaves PSZAF

Mate Siklosi, who oversees consumer protection activities at financial market regulator PSZAF, has left the watchdog effective May 1, business daily Napi Gazdasag reported on Monday.

Siklosi told the paper that he had left PSZAF in an appropriate manner, adding that many of the tasks set down a year earlier had been successfully completed.

The paper noted Siklosi's departure came as a surprise as the watchdog has stepped up consumer protection measures under his watch. Last month, PSZAF started opening a network of consumer protection offices around the country, and on Friday the watchdog issued recommendations on consumer protection policies to banks.
