Hankook Tire Magyarország, the Hungarian unit of Korean tire manufacturer Hankook, will build apartment buildings at a cost of HUF 2 billion (€7.22 million) in Dunaújváros to provide accommodation for the company's employees.
Construction work is expected to start early in the summer and the two four-storey buildings are scheduled to be completed early next year.
The apartment buildings will house 500 employees.
Econews earlier reported that Hankook is to hire 450 workers this year and 250 more next year to accommodate a planned 100% increase in production capacity at its factory in Rácalmás to 10 million tires per year by 2011, Hankook Tire Magyarország informed MTI on Tuesday evening.
The expansion is expected to cost €230 million.
Hankook Tire Magyarország currently employs 1,270 workers at its factory in Rácalmás, producing more than 15,000 tires per day at the plant. (MTI-ECONEWS)
