Korean tyre maker Hankook has made its first delivery from its plant in Hungary to a European car maker, PR manager for the company’s local unit Katalin Roy announced on Friday.
The tyres will be delivered to Volkswagen for the German car maker’s T5 family of light commercial vehicles.
Hankook started production at its €500 million plant on the edge of Dunaújváros in 2007. The plant employs 1,200 workers to turn out 15,000 tyres a day.
Hankook plans to double the plant’s capacity to an annual 10 million tyres with an investment slated to start in 2010 and finish in 2011. (MTI-Econews)
