Hungarian biscuit maker Győri Keksz, owned by Kraft Foods, inaugurated a HUF 1 billion candy factory in the Győr Industrial Park.
The plant will turn out an annual 2,200 tons of hard candy, though that is well under full capacity, said Győri Keksz managing director Zoltán Novák.
Győri Keksz said in 2007 it planned to further develop its hard candy production and was looking for a new production base in Győr.
Thomas Gaengler, a Kraft Foods vice president in charge of production in the region, said the candy factory was Kraft Foods first greenfield investment in Hungary. (MTI – Econews)
