The local council of Gyor (NW Hungary) plans to spend about HUF 1 billion on infrastructure developments related to an expansion at German carmaker Audi's production base in the city, a draft document to be debated by the council on Friday shows.
The HUF 900 million -1.1 billion in spending would go toward sewerage, water line and public lighting investments.
Audi announced in September a EUR 900m expansion at its base in Gyor. The project is to raise output at the plant to 125,000 cars a year from 2013 and create 1,800 jobs.
The expansion could raise Hungary's GDP by 1.8% and generate an additional HUF 20 billion in central budget revenue.
