Győr-Gönyű railway track could open in summer

The railway track between Győr and the Danube port in Gönyű (NW Hungary) could start operating in summer, with Hungarian railway company MÁV acting as asset manager, tje regional daily Kisalföld said on Tuesday.

Kisalföld was informed that the ministry aims to speed up the process of opening the section of railway.

There are still several asset managers managing the track, the paper said.

Director Emil Janak of Hungary's North Transdanubian Environment Protection and Water Management Directorate said he heard of the possibility, but received no written memo with regard to the matter.
