Guardian to invest Euro 30 mln at Hungarian unit

Guardian Industries Corp., a U.S. glassmaker, plans to spend Euro 30 million ($38 million) on development at its Hungarian unit to cater for increased demand in eastern Europe, Napi Gazdaság reported. Guardian's investment at its plant in the southeastern Hungarian town of Orosháza will increase the number of employees there to 400 from 350, the newspaper said, citing Zsolt Erdősi, the local unit's operations director. The glassmaker will also build a new 4,000 square-meter (43,056 square feet) production site in Orosháza by the third quarter of next year, Napi reported. (Bloomberg)
