The government will decide at the cabinet meeting on April 6 on the amount of the state subsidy to be granted to the expansion of the Audi plant in Győr (NW Hungary), nationaly daily Magyar Hírlap reported on Thursday.
The paper wrote it leant that the management of the German company insists on a similar amount of central funding to that allocated to the Mercedes investment in Kecskemét (Central Hungary), at least HUF 20 billion.
Magyar Hírlap said the government subsidy could amount to HUF 13 billion-15 billion, but overall support including infrastructural developments could add up to HUF 20 billion.
Audi announced in September a EUR 900 million expansion at its base in Győr. The expansion is to raise output at the plant to 125,000 cars a year from 2013 and create 1,800 jobs.
